Welcoming Oliwia Florkiewicz to Her New Role as Architectural Assistant

We’re delighted to announce that Oliwia Florkiewicz has taken on a new role at RoodSafe as an Architectural Assistant. Oliwia’s transition into this position reflects both her growing expertise and RoodSafe’s continued commitment to high-quality design, safety, and compliance.

To mark the occasion, we caught up with Oliwia to talk about her role, her passion for architecture, and what she’s most looking forward to as she continues her professional journey with us.

  • Congratulations on your new role! Can you tell us what an Architectural Assistant does at RoodSafe?

As an Architectural Assistant at RoodSafe, my role combines creative design with technical precision. I am involved in projects from the early design stages through to producing detailed drawings and visualisations, contributing to both external and internal building design.

Alongside this, I work closely with the team responsible for Mansafe Systems, producing technical drawings that are essential to ensuring buildings are compliant, safe, and practical. This technical aspect of the role plays a key part in translating architectural ideas into accurate, real-world solutions.

  • What excites you most about stepping into this new position?

The most exciting part of the role is the opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a multidisciplinary team. RoodSafe’s strong focus on safety, compliance, and quality makes it an ideal environment to develop technical skills while continuing to grow professionally.

  • What made you interested in architecture in the first place?

I have always been fascinated by how buildings are designed and how they influence the way people use and experience spaces. The balance between creativity and technical problem-solving is what originally drew her to architecture and continues to motivate her work today.

  • How does it feel to be part of the RoodSafe team in this new role?

Stepping into the role has been a positive and motivating experience. The team are welcoming and supportive and I value being part of a company that prioritises collaboration, precision, and high standards across all projects.

  • What skills do you think are most important for an Architectural Assistant?

I would say, attention to detail, strong technical skills, and clear communication are essential. Being organised, adaptable, and open to learning is particularly important when producing technical drawings and coordinating information across different aspects of a project.

  • What are you hoping to achieve in your role over the next year?

Over the coming year, I am keen to further develop my technical knowledge, build confidence in producing detailed drawings and safety systems, and gain a deeper understanding of regulations and compliance within architectural projects.

And finally – a fun one! How do you like to unwind outside of work?

  • Outside of work, I enjoy maintaining an active lifestyle by going to the gym, which helps me reset and stay focused. I also loves reading and expanding my knowledge beyond architecture, finding inspiration in other disciplines. In my free time, I enjoys spending time with friends and family, exploring new places, and discovering interesting buildings and spaces whenever I get the chance.

Congratulations Oliwia!
